Okay so i have a have chosen 2 book (Day of the Triffids & Oryx and Crake ) We had to describe a theme that describes both these book below is the theme i proposed but my teacher said it was "to broad". So i would like some help and tips of how to make it a bit more specific. He said to mention being fit vs how they evolve

what lets a person survive a situation
metaphors of survival & adaptability.
Please help! and Thank YOU!

Evolution – Both books display a modification of animals, gene splitting and building new immunities this is described as an acceleration of evolution. The major change in evolution is represented to display human arrogance and their attempt to controlling evolution to evolution having the upper hand.

Apparently none of the tutors here have read these books, so can't help. Sorry.

okay thanks anyways!

To make your theme more specific, you can focus on the concept of "survival of the fittest" and explore how it ties into the idea of human evolution and adaptability in both books. Here's a more refined version of the theme:

Survival of the Fittest and Human Adaptability – Both "Day of the Triffids" and "Oryx and Crake" examine the theme of survival, highlighting the struggles faced by characters in extreme circumstances and their ability to adapt. The novels explore the metaphorical representation of survival and individual resilience, showcasing how characters must evolve and develop new skills or strategies to navigate the challenges posed by their environments. Through the lens of survival of the fittest, the books delve into the dynamics of human arrogance, the consequences of tampering with nature, and the delicate balance between human control and the overwhelming power of evolution.
