Tim is a first grader and reads 28 words per minute. Assuming he maintains the same rate, using the double number line to find out how many words he can read in 5 minutes.

Words 0 28 --- --- ---- ----
Minutes 0 1 5

This is basically completing I assume a ratio table. So my answers are as follows:

0/0
28/1
56/2
84/3
112/5
140/5

Can you please double check my work and let me know if I did this correct or if I need to be doing something different.

Thank you

Right.

Thank you for checking on this Ms.Sue

Thank you!

No; Tim can read 140 words in 5 minutes.

is the answer what matt did corect

it is wrong

Your work is almost correct! Just a small correction: the last entry in your ratio table should be "140/5" instead of "112/5" since Tim can read 28 words per minute, and 28 x 5 = 140.

Here's the corrected ratio table:

Words 0 28 --- --- ---- ----
Minutes 0 1 5

Ratio table:
0/0
28/1
56/2
84/3
140/5

Based on this ratio table, you correctly calculated that Tim can read 140 words in 5 minutes if he maintains the same rate of 28 words per minute. Good job!

good job

Idk please help me! I’m a 6th Grader and I’ve never been so confused !!!

You messed up cause 28 times 5 is 140 not 112. So it’s supposed to be 112/4 but you put 112/5 instead.
