Mabatini primary school sold to a nearby school a third of her sacks of beans harvested last year,and used one over four of the remaining for food.If the remaining sacks were sold to the pupils at the price of 8000 shillings each,and thus giving the total amount of 216000 shillings.Find the total number of sacks which the school harvested?########please anyone to help me this question>>>>>

Total sacks in the harvest ---- x

number sold to nearby school = x/3
leaving them with 2x/3
amount used for food = (1/4)(2x/3) = x/6
leaving them with 2x/3 - x/6, or x/2 sacks to be sold to the pupils

So ....

8000(x/2) = 216000
x = 2(216000)/(8000) = 54 sacks <---- total harvest

check:
harvest = 54 sacks
sold 1/3 of 54 , or 18 to nearby school
leaving them with 36 sacks
they used 1/4 of that, or 9 sacks for food
leaving 27 sacks to be sold to students at 8000 per sack
income = 27(8000) = 216000
My answer is correct.
