The temperature at noon is 75F degrees. The temperature drops 3 degrees every half hour. What is the temperature at 4.p.m?

I honestly don't know what to do all I know is that I have these numbers,
75,3,4

noon to 4 p.m = 4 hours

It drops 6 degrees an hour

75 - (6 * 4) = _______ degrees

You're welcome. :-)

While I was looking at the other responses I not sure if mines is right

3 degrees subtracted from the 75
for 4 hours

3 x 4 = 12
75 - 12 = 61

I'm not for sure so don't put this first. For your answer

Thank You ! This Helped me

Ms. Sue how do you know tha this is the correct equation ????? Not being rude just want to know.

Ms.sue ,thank you

My problems answer would be 63 not 61 sorry!

To find the temperature at 4 p.m., we need to determine how many half-hour intervals have passed from noon to 4 p.m. Each half hour, the temperature drops by 3 degrees.

Since there are 12 half-hour intervals from noon to 4 p.m., we multiply the drop in temperature (3 degrees) by the number of intervals (12).

So, the total temperature drop from noon to 4 p.m. is 3 degrees x 12 intervals = 36 degrees.

To find the temperature at 4 p.m., we subtract the total temperature drop from the initial temperature at noon:

75 degrees - 36 degrees = 39 degrees.

Therefore, the temperature at 4 p.m. is 39°F.

Thank you
