Looks like Benjamin to me, but do it the same way:

p^1/3 = (8x)^1/6
p^2 = 8x

x^-1/2 = 4^-1/4
x^-2/4 = 4^-1/4
x^-2 = 4^-1
x^2 = 4
x = 2

p^2 = 16
4y = |p-8|
4y = 8
y = 2
