I have 2 similar triangles. The surface area of the smaller one is 27m squared. The scale factor is 3. How do I find the surface area of the larger triangle

areas of similar figures are proportional to the square of their corresponding sides

so the larger one is 9 times as large, or 243 m^2

or, if you didn't know that property

let the original be (1/2)(base)(height) = 27

new one is (1/2) (3base)(3height)
= 9 (1/2)(base)(height)
= 9 (27) = 243
