I am writing an essay

Do you guys know a word that is more powerful than encourages

Certainly! If you're looking for a word that conveys a stronger sense of the author compelling or urging the reader to feel a certain way, you can consider using the word "compels" instead of "encourages."

To find alternative words or synonyms, you can use a thesaurus. There are several ways to access a thesaurus:

1. Online Thesaurus: Visit websites such as Thesaurus.com or Merriam-Webster.com, and enter "encourages" in the search bar. It will provide a list of synonyms, including "compels" and other options that may suit your needs.

2. Word Processor Tools: Many word processing software, such as Microsoft Word or Google Docs, have built-in thesaurus features. Simply select the word you want to replace (in this case, "encourages"), right-click, and choose "Synonyms" or "Thesaurus." A list of alternative words will appear, assisting you in selecting a more powerful term.

3. Physical Thesaurus: If you prefer a physical book, you can refer to a printed thesaurus. Look for words that have a stronger impact, such as "compels," "forces," "imposes," or "dictates." These options imply a stronger influence by the author on the reader's emotions.

Remember to consider the context and tone of your essay while selecting the appropriate word.
