Sam stores manure for his farm in a rectangular box. The length of the box is 7 feet, width is 9 inches, and height is 6 inches. Each bag of manure he bought contains 2.625 cubic feet of manure. How many bags of manure will fill the box completely?

[1 foot = 12 inches]

there are no choices
pls help

V = LWH

V = 7 * 0.75 * 0.5

V = 2.625 cubic feet

9/12 = 3/4 foot

6/12 = 1/2 foot
so
Volume = 7 * 1/2 * 3/4 = 21/8 ft^3

(21/8) / 2.625 = 2.625/2.625

= 1 bag. I guess he built the box to hold one bag :)

stop whining.

You know that a box with dimensions x,y,z has volume xyz. So, just multiply things out.

box volume (all dimensions in feet) is

v = (7)(3/4)(1/2) = 21/8 = 2.625 ft^3

Now can you figure how many bags that will take?

thanks both of u :D

is it 1 bag steve
