I want to include a new 20m x 58m swimming pool in the athletic center. I am submitting a scale drawing on an 8.5" x 11" sheet of paper. Which scale should I use to create as large a drawing as possible on the paper?
1/8"= 1m
5/16"= 1m
3/16"= 1m
1/4"= 1m
1/8 = .125
58 m * .125 "/m = 7.25
20 *.125 = 2.5
fits but try bigger
5/16 = .3125
58 * .3125 = 18.1 , longer that paper
3/16 = .1825
.1825 * 58 = 10.87 length fits
.1825 * 20 = 3.65 fits easy
1/4 = .25
.25 * 58 = 14.5 too big
the biggest that still fits is 3/16
