Leslie needs 324 inches of fringe to put around the edge of a tablecloth. The fringe comes in lengths of 10 yards. If Leslie buys 1 package of fringe, how many feet of fringe will she have left over?

2. A jar contains 26 fluid ounces of spaghetti sauce. How many cups of spaghetti sauce do 4 jars contain?.

Please help

For the question with the jar they are wanting an answer in cups

For the question with the fringe they are asking to provide the answer in feet

then 13 cup and 3 feet.

How did you arrive at the answer of 13 cups that is what I am trying to figure out and have tried it several ways

1 cup = 8 fluid ounces

4 jars of sauce = 104 ounces

104 / 8 = 13 cups

That makes sense. I don't think I would have been able to figure this one out

this helps i guess

1. To find out how many feet of fringe Leslie will have left over, we need to convert the given values to the same unit of measurement.

We are given that Leslie needs 324 inches of fringe, and the fringe comes in lengths of 10 yards.

To convert yards to inches, we know that 1 yard is equal to 36 inches. So, 10 yards would be equal to 10 * 36 = 360 inches.

Now that we have converted the fringe length to inches, we can find out how many packages of fringe Leslie will need.

If 1 package of fringe contains 360 inches, we can find out the number of packages by dividing the total fringe length needed by the length of each package: 324 / 360 = 0.9.

Since we cannot buy a fraction of a package, Leslie will need to buy at least 1 package.

To calculate the leftover fringe, we need to subtract the length of fringe in inches from the total fringe length: 360 - 324 = 36 inches.

However, the question asks for the leftover fringe in feet, so we need to convert inches to feet. Since there are 12 inches in a foot, we divide the leftover length in inches by 12: 36 / 12 = 3 feet.

Therefore, if Leslie buys 1 package of fringe, she will have 3 feet of fringe left over.

2. To find out how many cups of spaghetti sauce 4 jars contain, we need to know the conversion rate between fluid ounces and cups.

There are 8 fluid ounces in 1 cup.

So, to calculate the total number of cups in 4 jars, we multiply the number of jars by the number of fluid ounces in each jar and then divide by the number of fluid ounces in 1 cup: (4 * 26) / 8 = 104 / 8 = 13 cups.

Therefore, 4 jars contain 13 cups of spaghetti sauce.
