Can you please help me solve:

Fifteen less than twice some number is 115.

15 - 2x = 115

is this the correct equation?

    Nope,

    10 less than 30 is 30-10, not 10-30.

    So, you have 2n and then 15 less than that is

    2n - 15 = 115
