What is the plot in the poem,

"The Road Not Taken" and "O Captain! My Captain!"

Read the poems and decide for yourself.

That's not helping!

Does either poem HAVE a plot as in a story told with a beginning, middle and end?

Okay. "The Road Not Taken" has a "plot" in that the speaker reaches a fork in the road while walking in the woods. After that, it's a rumination on making choices in one's life. "O Captain..." is a lament on the death of President Lincoln. It has no story per se. I don't know what the person who wrote this question wants you to say.

Poems (and essays) do not have to tell a story, but often are explorations of ideas or feelings and often are observations of the world around us or one's reactions to the world around us.

Why do you think the author wrote both of these poems?

Robert Frost and Walt Whitman were not one author. See above as to why.

Huh?

"Poems...often are explorations..." So, what was Frost exploring? What was Whitman reacting to? THINK.
