3 - Au marché

The new employee can't get anyone's order right. Say what each customer asked for and what the employee gave them.

Modèle-je / des frites
J'ai demandé des frites, mais il m'a donné du pain.

1. Malika / une pêche
Malika demande une peche, mais il m'a donne du poire.

2.Soraya / une tomate
Sonrya demande une tomate, mais il m'a donne du oignon.

3.Daniel / du pâté
Daniel demand du pate, mais il m'a donne du oeufs

4.Raphaël / un poivron rouge
Raphael demande un poivron rouge, mais il m'a donne du champignons.

Please help me to understand what I did wrong and also show me how to get the correct answers.

Please and thank you!

I'll send this to our French expert, SraJMcGin.

Thanks!

Please note 2 things first. In the instructions, the word "asked" is past tense. In the model "j \'ai demandé" is also past tense (passé composé)

Therefore, I believe all your verbs should be in the past tense. For example in #1 = Malika a demandé une pêche (note the accent circonflexe), mais il lui a donné une poire. (pear is feminine)

The model used the partitive (des/du) but #1 does not. #3 will.

Now that I have done #1 for you, please try #2, #3, #4 and I'll be back to check them. 2 things were wrong in your sentence. First of all the verb is in the past tense and then if I doesn't happen to be the subject, it can not be...il m'a donné.

I'll flag this and come back in a while to check it again.

# 2: Sonyra a demande une tomate, mais il lui a donne un ognion.

#3- Daniel a demande du pate, mais il lui a donne des oeufs

#4- Raphael a demande un poviron rouge, mais il lui du champignons.

Sorry, I just saw this.

#2 Sonyra a demandé....il lui a donné (required accent marks)

If you don't know how to make accent marks on the computer, I need to know 2 things. a) do you have a PC or Mac and b) do you have Windows or not.

#3 a demandé du pâté....il lui a donné

#4 a denabdé,,,,you forgot the verb in the 2nd half = il lui a donné des champignons. (If the noun is plural, use des)

2. Soraya asked for a tomato, but the employee gave her an onion. The correct answer should be:
Soraya demande une tomate, mais il m'a donné un oignon.

3. Daniel asked for pâté, but the employee gave him eggs. The correct answer should be:
Daniel demande du pâté, mais il m'a donné des œufs.

4. Raphaël asked for a red bell pepper, but the employee gave him mushrooms. The correct answer should be:
Raphaël demande un poivron rouge, mais il m'a donné des champignons.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any more questions or if you'd like me to sprinkle in some more jokes!

To understand what went wrong and find the correct answers, let's break down each customer's request and the employee's mistake:

1. Malika asked for "une pêche" (a peach), but the employee gave her "du poire" (some pear). The correct answer should be: Malika demande une pêche, mais il lui a donné de la poire.

To correct this mistake, make sure to use the correct word for "pear" in French, which is "poire" (feminine).

2. Soraya asked for "une tomate" (a tomato), but the employee gave her "du oignon" (some onion). The correct answer should be: Soraya demande une tomate, mais il lui a donné de l'oignon.

To correct this mistake, make sure to use the correct word for "onion" in French, which is "oignon" (masculine). Additionally, use the correct article "de l'" instead of "du" because "oignon" starts with a vowel sound.

3. Daniel asked for "du pâté" (some pâté), but the employee gave him "du oeufs" (some eggs). The correct answer should be: Daniel demande du pâté, mais il lui a donné des œufs.

To correct this mistake, make sure to use the correct word for "eggs" in French, which is "œufs" (plural). Additionally, use the correct article "des" instead of "du" because "œufs" is plural.

4. Raphaël asked for "un poivron rouge" (a red bell pepper), but the employee gave him "du champignons" (some mushrooms). The correct answer should be: Raphaël demande un poivron rouge, mais il lui a donné des champignons.

To correct this mistake, make sure to use the correct word for "mushrooms" in French, which is "champignons" (plural). Additionally, use the correct article "des" instead of "du" because "champignons" is plural.

To get the correct answers, you need to pay attention to the gender and number of the requested items, as well as use the correct articles and nouns in French. You can consult a French dictionary or grammar guide to ensure you are using the correct words and articles.
