Hi! I was wondering if someone can check my answers? Thanks!

Directions: Respond correctly by using informal, formal, plural, and nosotros commands.

1.) Form the command for a friend: Don't come.

My answer:

No vengas.

2.) Form the command using the correct pronoun/s: Let's study the book!

My answer: Vamos a estudiar el libro!

3.) Form the command for a teacher: Write!

My answer: Escribe!

4.) Form the command using the correct pronoun/s to plural people: Walk the dog for me!

My answer: Pasear al perro para mí!

I'll send this to our Spanish expert, SraJMcGin.

#1 = correct

#2 = correct, unless you have had the "let's" form in Spanish III or IV = estudiemos
#3 = No. Because escribir ends in -ir, the theme vowel for the formal command is "a" = escriba
#4. No. The command form, plural, of pasear is paseen el perro para mí. You MAY give "el perro" a "personal a" but not usually.

I'll flag this and come back later to see if you have any questions.

So for #2, it would be just "estudiemos"? And #4 is Pasear? Because I am in Spanish 3 and we are using Iop/Dop's with this as well so I'm not sure on how I would apply those to these examples?

#2 = I have no idea if you have studied the Subjunctive and the "let's form" or not. That would depend upon your text and/or your teacher.

#4 can NOT be pasear because that is the Infinitive form and NOT the command. The directions said to use the command form. For plural people that would be the Ustedes form = pase/en = it looks odd at first because the first "e" is in the stem and the second "e" is in the ending!

When using Iop and Dop, with a negative command, they precede the verb form, but with the affirmative command, they are attached on the end, adding accent marks where necessary.

Just how complete an explanation will you need on Familiar and Formal Commands? Here is what it covers:
a. formal commands = how to form them
b. indirect commands
c. Let Us or Let's command
d. familiar commands = how to form them
e. regular and irregular
f. object pronouns with commands

Sure! I can check your answers for you.

1.) Form the command for a friend: Don't come.

Your answer:
No vengas.

Correct! "No vengas" is the correct command form in the informal singular for "Don't come."

2.) Form the command using the correct pronoun/s: Let's study the book!

Your answer:
Vamos a estudiar el libro!

Almost there! While "Vamos a estudiar el libro" is a correct sentence meaning "Let's study the book," it's not a command. To form a command, you can use the formal plural "estudiemos el libro." So the correct answer is "Estudiemos el libro."

3.) Form the command for a teacher: Write!

Your answer:
Escribe!

Great job! "Escribe" is the correct command form in the informal singular for "Write."

4.) Form the command using the correct pronoun/s to plural people: Walk the dog for me!

Your answer:
Pasear al perro para mí!

Almost there! The pronoun "me" indicates that the command is being given to a single person. To address multiple people, you would use the pronoun "nos" instead. So the correct command would be "Paseen al perro para nosotros."

Overall, your answers are good! Just a small clarification on the second question when forming a command with the correct pronouns.
