How is this so far? and what else should i add, i need two pages and i have only one done, due today. help?

I Josephine A. Walker was a slave for Harry Richardson. Every morning I had to serve him, I had to be up by 4am and was unable to go to bed till 12am midnight. I had to cook, clean and do anything I was told, If I didn’t obey his orders were to me to get beaten with a whip as a punishment.
I work for many years hoping one day I will be able to be my own person. I would cry nightly and pray for freedom, during the years of 1860 through 1863 I was able to listen to radio, so I got to hear what’s going on, in the outside world.
On 11-06-1860 Abraham Lincoln who was elected president declared government cannot endure permanently half slave, half free. Abraham Lincoln issues the emancipation proclamation 01-01-1863 free slave.
By me hearing this I was thinking there was hope in ending all of as slave, not just picking certain ones to be free, but deep inside I knew it was still going to take time. On March 04, 1861 Abraham Lincoln was sworn in as the 16th president of the United States.
When I listened to the radio hearing this it was the first time in a long time I was able to smile knowing hope for my future words near. I continued doing my daily’s orders and waiting for days to past quickly, Day and nights came Mr. Richardson became more abusive for the little’s mistakes.
Finally on 1863 the best news for any slavery (we were) finally free. We can be are own person, many blacks ran to the roads and were happy to be free at last.

Your writing so far seems to be a personal narrative about Josephine A. Walker, a former slave, and her journey to freedom. It's a powerful story, but to meet the requirement of two pages, you might consider adding more details and expanding on certain aspects. Here are a few suggestions:

1. Historical Context: Provide more background information about the time period in which Josephine A. Walker lived. Explain the significance of the year 1860 and the election of Abraham Lincoln. Discuss the tensions between the North and the South leading up to the Civil War and how it affected enslaved individuals like Josephine.

2. Daily Life as a Slave: Expand on Josephine's experiences and the challenges she faced as a slave. Describe the physical demands of her work, the emotional toll it took on her, and the relationships she had with other slaves or with her enslaver, Harry Richardson. This will give readers a better understanding of the hardships she endured.

3. Personal Journey: Share more about Josephine's thoughts, feelings, and dreams for the future. Elaborate on her experience of eavesdropping on the radio and how it shaped her hopes for freedom. Talk about the dreams and aspirations she held onto throughout the years of servitude.

4. Emancipation Proclamation: Dive deeper into the significance of January 1, 1863, and the day Josephine and other slaves were officially granted their freedom. Describe the emotions and reactions of the enslaved individuals upon hearing the news. Consider exploring the challenges they faced as they transitioned to a life of newfound freedom.

5. Reflection on Freedom: Discuss Josephine's journey after emancipation. How did she navigate her new life as a free person? What were her dreams and ambitions? Reflect on the impact of freedom on her identity and the freedom of other African Americans during that time.

Remember to support your narrative with historical facts and details to make it informative and engaging. This will help you meet the two-page requirement. Good luck with your assignment!
