So, my teacher decided to drop a worksheet on us without actually teaching us the lesson or showing us how to do any of the problems. If someone could help me with these, that would be amazing! Thanks so much! :)

Directions: Simplify the expressions.

1.) Sec^2 x-1
2.) 1/sinx
3.)sin x cot x
4.) Sin^2x/1++cos z

These are just your basic trig functions. Review them and the first three are trivial. I'll do #4.

sin^2x / 1+cosx
(1-cos^2x)/(1+cosx)
(1-cosx)(1+cosx)/(1+cosx)
1-cosx

If indeed your teacher assigned these problems with no prior introduction to the trig functions, then don't be afraid to dive into your text and check out the basic trig identities and definitions. Or, google trig identities for lots of examples and explanations.

If I just solve them here, the answers will not mean anything to you if you haven't studied the section, anyway.
