√ ̅m+3 + √ ̅m-2 =5

How do you call equation like that?

The sqrt(N) = (N)^1/2.

(m+3)^1/2 + (m-2)^1/2 = 5
m+3)^1/2 = 5 - (m-2)^1/2
Square both sides:
m+3 = 25 - 2*5*(m-2)^1/2 + m-2
m+3 -m+2 = 25 - 10(m-2)^1/2
5 = 25 - 10(m-2)^1/2
Divide both sides by 5:
1 = 5 - 2(m-2)^1/2
2(m-2)^1/2 = 5-1 = 4
Square both sides:
4(m-2) = 16
4m - 8 = 16
4m = 24
m = 6.

Note: The procedure could have been much shorter, but I chose to show most
of the steps.
