Follow the order of operations.
8 x [5 + (187)] ÷ 4
First, the parenthesis,
(187) = 11, so
8 x [5+11] ÷ 4
Next, the parenthesis again,
(5+11)=16, so
8 x (16) ÷4
Multiplication,
8 x (16) = 128, so
128 ÷ 4
Finally, division,
128 ÷ 4 = 32
so your answer is 32 :)
