Find an equation of the line that passes through two points.
(0,4) and (7,10)

  • math problem -

    the slope of the line is ∆y/∆x, so
    m = 6/7

    Now you have a point and a slope, so the line is

    y-4 = 6/7 (x-0)
    or
    y-10 = 6/7(x-7)

    and you can massage them to whatever form you like, and convince yourself that they are really the same equation.
