Write each equation in standard form. Solve by using the Quadratic Formula.

1. -7 = x^2

2. x^2 - 16 = 0

    Can you apply the quadratic formula?

    In both these cases, it happens that b=0. Don't be thrown off by that. 0 is just as good a number as any other.
