solve each system of equations
1.4x-0.5y=1.3
0.4x+1.1y=4.1

    I find it easier to deal with integers, so my first step would be

    14x - 5y = 13
    4x + 11y = 41

    now, to eliminate the y's, do some multiplying to get

    154x - 55y = 143
    20x + 55y = 205

    add them together to get

    174x = 348
    x = 2
    so, y = 3
