What is major depressive disorder?

A. A disorder that is enabling and helps a person function normally

C. A disorder characterized by symptoms that do not interfere with a person’s ability to work, sleep, study, eat, and enjoy once-pleasurable activities
D. A disorder characterized by depressive symptoms that are long-term but less severe than those of major depression

I think its with b or c?

Well -- does it or doesn't it interfere with normal life?

I think its D, mainly because I suffer from major depression and this option is true; that depressive disorder in itself is quite harsh, just as any depression is, but it does not interfere as much in the daily routine and does not stick around as long as major depression disorder does. Normally depression disorder is caused by a death in the family, or hings such as this which will commonly be a minimum of time to get over it, perhaps with therapy; whereas major depression is often long term. I will post whether It is C or D when I finish the exam.

The correct answer is B. Major depressive disorder, also known as clinical depression, is a mental health disorder characterized by persistent and intense feelings of sadness and loss of interest or pleasure in activities. It is a condition that can significantly interfere with a person's ability to function in various aspects of life, including work, sleep, study, eating, and enjoying once-pleasurable activities. The symptoms of major depressive disorder can include low mood, lack of energy, changes in appetite and sleep patterns, difficulty concentrating, feelings of guilt or worthlessness, and even thoughts of self-harm or suicide. It is important to seek professional help if you or someone you know is experiencing these symptoms. A mental health professional, such as a psychiatrist or psychologist, can provide an accurate diagnosis and develop a treatment plan tailored to the individual's needs.
