After a rock layer is eroded, which additional event must occur to create an unconformity, or a gap in the geologic record?

a. an earthquake or motion along a fault.
b. new deposits of sediment must build up on the eroded area.
c. folding of sedimentary rock layers.
d. a volcanic eruption.

Is this C? My lesson gives a definition for unconformity as "a rock or sediment surface separating two layers of different ages."

Well, this is the REAL WORLD, people, so get used to it! I think we need to have a 3 strikes you're out system here because you people are spamming. This actually helps a lot, it's not that we don't study but really the school doesn't always provide enough information and if they do it's difficult to find. I knew most of the questions on the test, but some I had no clue how to answer.
