How do i solve an equation when there is a variable on both side of = and the two constants are equal

x-16 = 16-2x
7-2x = 2x-7
The answer in both cases seems to = 0

step by step:

x-16 = 16-2x
add 2x to both sides
x+2x - 16 = 16-2x+2x
3x-16 = 16
add 16 to both sides
3x-16+16 = 16+16
3x= 32
divide both sides by 3
3x/3 = 32/3
x = 32/3

now you try the second one in a similar way.
remember , you can just turn the equation around if you feel like it
7-2x= 2x-7 ------> 2x-7 = 7-2x

(you should not x=7/2 , not 0 )
