A caiman swims 185 meters at a speed of 6 m/s. It then enters a stream and slows to 2 m/s for 310 meters. What is the average speed of this cousin of the crocodile?

  • Pysics -

    t₁=s₁/v₁ =185/6=30.83 s
    t₂=s₂/v₂= 310/2=155 s
    v(ave) =(s₁+s₂)/(t₁+t₂)=
    =(185+310)/(30.83+155)=2.66 m/s

    thanks
