The size, mass, and arrangement of atoms affect the density of a substance.

If a substance has a low density, what can you guess about the size, mass and arrangement of the atoms that make up that substance?

  • SCIENCE and CHEMISTRY -

    If a substance has a low density, the size is small, it is heavy, and the atoms are arranged more tightly that make up the substance.

    If a substance has a high density, the size is large, it is lighter, and the atoms are arranged less tightly/"loosely" that make up the substance.

    The substances would basically be the opposite of each other because of their density.
