    = 98,200,000.

    3) 9x10^-3

    = 0.0009

    4) 7.24x10^-6

    = 0.00000724

    The power of 10 refers to the number of positions the decimal point has to be moved, not the number of zeroes.
    So for #2, it should be
    9.82000*100000=982000
    Similarly, for #3,
    9x10^3=9/1000=0.009
