Could someone please explain these?

45.
log_{b} √(7x)
= log_{b} (7x)^(1/2)
=(1/2 log_{b} (7x)
= (1/2) ( log_{b} 7 + log_{b} x)
do #46 the same way,
except recall that log(A/B) = logA  logB
