The football field is 60 yards by 100 yards.Is the length of the diagonal across this field more or less than 200 yards?

length=sqrt(60^2+100^2) 
Use the Pythagorean theorem since the diagonal is the hypotenuse of a right triangle.
a^2 + b^2 = c^2
60^2 + 100^2 = c^2
