speed of first trip --- x mph
speed on return trip .. 2x mph
time for 1st trip = 300/x
time for 2nd trip = 300/(2x)
300/x - 300/2x = 5
multiply by 2x
600 - 300 = 10x
x = 30
first speed was 30 mph
return speed was 60 mph
