What is the value of u in the following system of linear equations?
4u + 3v = –1
3u + 2v = 1

    Multiply both sides of the 1st Eq by -2,
    and multiply both sides of the 2nd Eq by 3. Then add the Eqs.

    -8u -6v = 2
    +9u +6v = 3

    U = 5.
