ESTIMATION. WHICH IS THE BEST ESTIMATE FOR THE AREA OF A SQUARE WITH SIDES EQUAL TO 4 1/8 INCHES?

4*4 = 16
or
4 * 4 1/4 = 16 + 1 = 17
exact is 17.015625
