I have this paper and it talks about chad and Claire and the rectangular base and when it said the least expensive thing I got 8 by 6 with the cost \$23.80 it's right but I forgot how I got my answer a little help please?

Claire and chad want to design a rectangular pen for their new puppy to have an area of 48 square feet. Fencing costs \$0.85 per foot.
What are the dimensions and the cost of the least expensive pen Claire and chad could build, assuming the side lengths are whole numbers. Explain. I got 8 by 6 and it's right but I forgot how I got the answer for the cost help me

Ahh -- I see now.

P = 2L + 2W

P = (2 * 8) + (2 * 6)

P = 16 + 12

P = 28 feet

28 * 0.85 = \$23.80

the dimensions are 8x6. if you multiply the cost \$.085 times 48 you get \$40.80.

Oh I get it now thank you so much wow u r a lifesaver thank you very much I really appreciate it

Donna -- the area is 48 square feet. Gabby needs the perimeter to find out how much fencing is needed.

That was for miss sur by the way

You're welcome, Gabby.

Sue

Buh bye
