leila walks south for 20m and then west for 20m,determine resultant displacement

  • science -

    X = -20 m.
    Y b= -20 m.

    D^2 = X^2 + Y^2.
    D^2 = 20^2 + 20^2 = 800
    D = 28.28 m. = Displacement.

    tanAr = Y/X = -20/-20 = 1.
    Ar = 45o = Reference angle.
    A = 180+45 = 225o.
