if 2 cm on a map is 50 kms what is 8.5 cms on a map...how many kms ???

• maths -

use a straightforward proportion

2 cm/50 km = 8.5 cm / x km
2x = 42.5
x = 21.25

8.5 cm on the map represent 21.25 km
