The tow truck was towing a car, the car is 10 ft long and cast a shadow 23 ft long if the tow truck is 17 ft long how long is the shadow of the tow truck

  • math -

    the lengths and shadows are in the same ratio. So,

    10/17 = 23/x
    x = 39.1 ft

    or, the ratio of length:shadow is the same for both vehicles:

    10/23 = 17/x
    x = 39.1 ft
