Find the absolute maximum value and the absolute minimum value, if any, of the function. (If an answer does not exist, enter DNE.)

    as you know, quadratics have either a min or a max, but not both.

    Since this one has -x^2, it is a parabola which opens downward, and so has a max, which occurs at

    x = -4/-2 = 2
    g(2) = 8
