The products of 5x4 (20) and 1x4 (4)added together (20+4=24)is one half the product of 6x8 (48). If you double the sum of 20+4 (24) you will get 48 (24+24=48 or 24x2+48).

yes, because i can divide 6 into a 5 so we can do 5x8 and we just had to add a 5 so we can get the right answer.
