mr. cruz is 3 years older. he would be the same age as mr. john. mr. john is 46 years old. how old is mr. cruz now?

    I'd say that the question needs to be retyped. It appears that it should read

    If Mr. Cruz were 3 years older, he would be the same age as Mr. John. Mr. John is 46 years old. how old is Mr. Cruz now?

    43 years old. DUH.
