B is between A and C. Solve for x, if AB=2x+6, BC=4x-3, and AC=5x+12

  • Geometry -

    you know that AB+BC = AC
    so, plug in the values:
    2x+6 + 4x-3 = 5x+12
    6x+3 = 5x+12
    x = 9
