Convert 2.868*10^10g to kg, Mg, and mg
For kg, I put .002868 and 2.868*10^-3 but the computer said neither are correct. HELP PLEASE! (:

The basic table is
kg 1000
hg 100
dkg 10
g 1
dg 0.1
cg 0.01
mg 0.001
So you can see there are 1000 g in 1 kg; therefore,
2.868 x 10^10 g x (1 kg/1000g) = ?
2.868 x 10^10 g x (1000mg/g) = ?

Okay so would it be .002868? You would divide 2.868 by 1000 right? (for kg) or would it be 2.868*10^-3?

No and no. You're ignoring the 10^10
2.868 x 10^10/1000 = 2.868 x 10^7

2.868 x 10^10 x 1000 = 2.868 x 10^13

Ooohhhh that makes so much sense! Awesome. Thanks so much!
