A man jogs at a speed of 1.7 m/s. His dog
waits 2.5 s and then takes off running at a
speed of 4.1 m/s to catch the man.

How far will they have each traveled when
the dog catches up with the man?

help me set up the equations please!

• Physics -

s= v1• (t+2.5) = v2•t
t=2.5•v1/(v2-v1) =
= 2.5•1.7/(4.1-1.7)=1.77 s.
s =v2•t=4.1•1.77=7.26 m
