In a hypermarket promotional drive, the customers would only have to
pay half of the original price on their second buy of the same item and
one quarter of the original price on their third buy of the same item for
some selected items. A customer bought 3 units of a selected item and
he paid RM280 for the 3 items. What was the original price of 1 unit of
the item?

Let X be the single unit price.
X + 0.5X + 0.25X = 280
1.75 X = 280
X = 160 Renminbi
