the equation of striaght line is 2x-3y+8=0 find the equation of the straight line passing through (4,-2)and parallel to L

• Math -

Easiest way:

since the new equation is parallel to the given, it must start as
2x - 3y + c = 0, only differing in the value of c
sub in the given point...
2(4) - 3(-2) + c = 0
c = -14

2x - 3y - 14 = 0 , done!
