How many years has Canada been trading with countries in Europe?

  • geography-grade 7 -

The first permanent Canadian settlement was established in Nova Scotia, by France, in 1605. Trade with Europe was needed to keep the settlement going. There were some "unofficial" or non-permanent settlements as early as 1600.
