You now have
V = √2gh
So you use it to find the first and second velocity
v down = sqrt (2 g h) = sqrt (2*9.8*5)
= 9.9 m/s
v up = sqrt (2 * 9.8*2)
= 6.26
change in momentu = m delta v = 1(9.9+6.26)
= 16.2 kg m/s
