The highest temperature ever recorded in the United States is 134F at Greenland Ranch, Death Valley, CA, on July 13, 1913. What is the temperature on the Celsius and Kelvin scales?

  • chemistry -

    (F-32)*5/9 = C
    K = 273.15 + C

  • chemistry -

    Would the equation be like this?

  • chemistry -

    Yes and no.
    The first equation is correct; all you need to do is the math. To check yur answer C should be 56.66 which I would round to 56.7.
    The second one is K = 273.15 + C. You should substitute C into the equation and not F.
