What is the summation of (n-3) from n=1 to n=5?

  • Algebra 2 -

    let n=1 -- 1-3 = -2
    let n=2 -- 2-3 = -1
    let n=3 -- 3-3 = 0
    let n=4 -- 4-3 = 1
    let n=5 -- 5-3 = 2

    then
    -2 + (-1) + 0 + 1 + 2 = 0
