Question

I left out two sentences I really find it difficult to rephrase.

1) Frankenstein uses a thin ray of light of the lantern in order to enlighten the plae blue eye of the old man.
2) The last gothic characteristic is the fear caused by the action of the monster that becomes a murderer and by the demoniacal traits that he provides to the men that live in the society in which they monster will never be able to enter. (This sentence is really difficult to be corrected and rephrased. It is too wordy!!)
