I had to change (da) to past but I don’t know the past tense.

di, diste, dio, dimos, dieron. Because "u" and "i" are weak, an accent mark is not required. In OLD books dí & dió USED to have accent marks but no longer!
3. You "almost" had it but Spanish is "a Romance language" and "do" is far from romantic/pretty/musical, etc.
After you study Spanish a while, your "ear" will tell you whether it is wrong or right! :)
